On December 20th the School Concert was held in the
Big School and met with its usual success. The room had
been prettily decorated with evergreens and flags by Mrs.
Eagg, to whom our best thanks are due, and was well filled by
an apparently appreciative audience, though the weather pre-
vented many of those, who had received invitations, from being
present. Among the visitors were the Dean and Miss Leigh,
the former of whom, in the interval between the two parts of
the concert, distributed the prizes and certificates decided by
the summer examinations. The various items on the pro-
gramme reflected great credit on all concerned, and the choruses,
where possible, were taken up with great effect by the audience
at the lower end of the room. By way of adding some variety
to the entertainment the second half of the programme was
given up to a musical sketch by Mr. Astley Weaver, an innova-
tion which was well received, the entertainment meeting with
well-deserved applause.
